The European Day of Environment
And you can help!
How?
We are looking for locals who want to organise a small activity concerning the environment in (preferably) the week of 3-9 June.
What to do:
The theme of the action is "climate change". You don't have to follow the theme closely but it is meant as a guideline.
You can think of actions like movies, nature walks, making your AEGEE office or the university more environmentally friendly, lectures, workshops etc. For more ideas look at our EDE-Document.
How to get involved:
Send us a mail saying that you want to organise something within your local. Tell us if you already have a specific idea or want us to help you with something you could do.
Why would I organise something?
Because small events can create an impact. Because it can be fun. Because you want to show the big topics in international politics can be dealt with in AEGEE and in an AEGEE way. Because it is good PR. Because it shows your sponsors AEGEE has it’s serious face too. Because you care..
And of course every other reason you can think of yourself.
History:
The idea to organize something came up during brainstorm sessions at our New Year seminar in Estonia . We wanted to create an environmental event that could have impact throughout Europe , in analogy of the great initiative of the European Day of Languages.
This European Day of Environment will be the first time AEGEE shows Europe just how much it can care.
