Freezing Hot New Year in Wild Estonian Nature
During 6 days we had:
- lectures about state of environment in Europe, healthy food, ecolabels etc
- workshops how to make bread and paper
- open discussion sessions about environmental events, sustainable lifestyle, environment and AEGEE etc.
- a real bog hike
- true Estonian home-cooked meals
- lots of sauna (including exotic smoked sauna and bathing barrel at new-year’s eve)
- estonian folk music party
- Ecological European Night – everyone had to bring at least one organic product
- 3 movies were seen and one short one made on spot
- sightseeing and clubbing in Tartu and Tallinn
Most of the time during the event we spent outside of urban area, accommodated in a hostel applying for European Ecolabel and catered by local cook and consuming local food. Workshops and folk party were to support the traditions’ and sustainability aspect.
This was the event where the current board of EnWG met and decided to become official working group. So the new year promise „Make a new start” seemed to have worked.
