(question and issues that we have actually discussed)

1. Current situations in some EU countries (France, Italy, The Netherlands, Greece and Germany).
Thus following discussion will be based on the overlook of those.

2. General “schools” of immigrant integration:

* English - where people are allowed to continue living their lives with no integration demanded by the host country authorities, which does not usually bring riots, but it does lead to creation of ghettos;
* French - where the host country expects that the immigrants should integrate (the same in Germany);
* Some kind of mix of two stated above approaches that we can see in Italy, for example - where they claim they do as the French, but actually act like a poor version of the English manner;
* Special strategy of Canada (also in Australia, for example) - to work there (read get visa) people have to take exam, and fill a form with their skills, and they get chosen according to the need of the country.

3. Some problems and difficulties which immigrants usually face in the host countries:

* high leveled unemployment, caused either by deficiency of education or by obstructivity of getting a place due ones nationality;
* difficulties with getting a legal status, i.e. arranging proper documents, which leads to problems with work, lodging, absence of health insurance and etc.;
* lack of respect from the side of local people and especially from the side of local authorities;
* conflicts.

4. Some difficulties that host country can get when it faces the immigration problem:

* illegal immigrants;
* raised number of crimes;
* conflicts between native people and immigrants caused by cultural and religion diversity.

5. What can be done to solve the problem?

Not mentioning the mutual compromises from the both sides - immigrants and local authorities, it would be very helpful to have a common immigration strategy for the whole EU.

 
Output

The process of immigration (and particularly integration that follows after) is all about interaction of the both parts, which definitely needs a certain level of loyalty from hem. Whatever immigration strategy any certain country currently sticks, both sides - immigrants and local authorities - should be ready for the compromises.

Furthermore, it would be very efficient and rational to foster a common immigration strategy for he whole EU. Though, as for now, we would rather question this feasibility, because currently all the member countries have very different approaches to can't even manage to create (and properly follow) the visa issuing policy. Still, it is really worth continuing to work on it.

1. Media coverage

How was this issue covered in different countries: as an important issue, as a fraud, as a hacking accident of no importance?

* In Austria it is presented similarly to Germany, it gets quite a lot of attention, mostly on Germany itself - there is less talk about how justified it is, and more going through the documents that are released

* In Ukraine it was quite actively covered, as there are some points about its Establishment

* In Greece it was bigger matter; there were some information about military budgets - but not something really important

* In Switzerland and Malta there is also some publicity, but not much – they are neutral, so no news about it

2. Diplomatic effect

* Do you believe that in this case - or any other similar case - this can change a lot in the diplomacy between the two countries?

* Apart from the diplomacy between countries, do you see that the public opinion will be much affected by that?

3. In the future...

* Do you believe that there are even more leaks to come in the future?

* From the juridical point of view:

* Do you believe that Julian Assange is a criminal for publishing that? Or he is justified by freedom of press?

* Do you think that in case he is going to US court he ll be evicted? Considering also that in case he is imprisoned there will maybe be public reactions.

4. Social effect

Public has seen that all these secrets that were just rumors are finally true - do you think ppl will be discouragersd to participate in politics from now on? Now that the international politics now have a negative image on public opinion do you think this will discourage people to participate in political life?
